The question we get asked most often is: "So, when is it coming to Android?"
The short answer: it’s already here. It just isn't publicly available yet—the app is currently in the testing phase, and can only be installed by those we’ve added to our list of testers.
Why we didn't release it right away
The temptation to launch both versions on the same day was strong. But Android isn't just "the same app, only green."
There are a few dozen iPhone models, and they all behave more or less the same way. There are thousands of Android devices: different manufacturers, different user interfaces, different screen sizes, and—most importantly—different ways of handling background processes. Xiaomi, Samsung, and Huawei each "optimize" apps in their own way: halting them, holding back notifications, or disabling synchronization whenever they see fit.
For a standard app, that’s a minor issue. For ours, it’s not. The whole point of "Blizhche" is that the "I miss you" signal arrives right now, not two hours later when the system finally decides to let it through. The "Question of the Day" needs to arrive in the morning, not whenever luck allows. The home screen widget needs to show the current day count, not the one from the day before yesterday.
So, we faced a choice: release something that "sort of works" and get one-star reviews from people whose notifications are delayed, or test it first on real devices used by real people. We chose the latter. ## What’s already working
Everything available on the iPhone version: pairing and invitations, signals, mood, Question of the Day, shared dates with a countdown, wishes, memories, "Guess," and Pro features. A home screen widget is included, too.
We are currently fine-tuning the aspects not visible in screenshots: notification speed across different Android skins, behavior after a phone restart, and widget performance when the system clears the app from memory.
How to join the testing
It’s free and takes just a minute.
- Contact us via Support or by emailing support@rstyle.digital;
- Provide the Gmail address linked to the Google account on your phone—this is the address Google Play uses to grant access to the test;
- We’ll send you a link in reply. Open it on your phone, accept the invitation, and the app will install via the standard Google Play Store.
Updates arrive automatically, just like with any other app. When the public version is released, you won’t need to reinstall anything—your version will simply switch to the standard one.
Why Gmail specifically? Google Play grants testing access based on your Google account, so the address must match the one you use to log in to the Play Store on your phone. If you provide a different address, the link will open, but the "Install" button won't appear.
What we ask in return
Nothing mandatory. However, if something behaves strangely—a notification arrives late, a widget freezes, or the app crashes—please let us know via "Support." A single report like that saves us a week of troubleshooting, as we often simply cannot reproduce the issue on our own phones.
When is the public release?
As soon as we complete the internal testing phase with Google.
In the meantime, feel free to reach out, and we’ll add you.
